It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Backline will be suspending our Talk Line services as of September 1, 2009.
This is a particularly hard decision when we are serving more women and their loved ones than ever before, but the demand has so outpaced our resources that we simply cannnot continue without possibly risking a decline in quality of services. We are so honored to have been a trusted resource for women and their loved ones to talk about all aspects of pregnancy, parenting, abortion and adoption for the past five years, and we are so sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience that this change in programming may cause.
It is not clear at this time how long this suspension of services will last. We will work to make this transition as smooth as possible, and welcome your questions and feedback throughout the process. Starting on September 1, 2009, callers will receive a recorded message that will offer appropriate referrals for mental health and reproductive health care needs. Again, we are so sorry for the inconvenience that this causes you, and please know that we have not made this decision lightly and will keep our colleagues and those we serve as informed as possible as we move in to the future.

Charlotte Taft at Imagine Counseling is available for telephone counseling before or after an abortion procedure. Services are available for $25/hour.
