Talk Line Advocates
Backline's next training for Talk Line Advocates will be later in 2012. If you are interested in applying to volunteer on the Talk Line, please fill out an application and someone will contact you with more information.
Talk Line Advocates must be based in the Portland, OR area and are expected to serve two five-hour shifts per month for at least one year. All Talk Line Advocates receive 40 hours of initial training in the Backline model of options counseling and learn how to facilitate client-centered conversation around pregnancy, adoption, abortion and parenting. In addition to the initial training, Advocates meet on a monthly basis for support and ongoing education on reproductive health and justice issues, values clarification, peer counseling skills, and other relevant topics.
Other Positions
In addition to Talk Line Advocates, Backline needs other talented and committed volunteers to make our work possible. We are always looking for people to help with big and little projects - helping with fundraising, outreach efforts, administrative support, and being part of our social media team.
